MONTHLY COURSES 2008
Hands-on group classes taught by local chefs and food experts. Each course meets once a week and courses may be added for a more intensive program. Monthly courses begin on the first week of each month, (see monthly calendar for dates).

Group Cooking - Wine - Italian Language:

Program A:
Italian Language (2 hrs/day total 40 hrs per month) + 4 cooking classes (once a week) + 4 wine classes (once a week) Extra group cooking classs can be added to this program.

Program B:
Italian Language (4 hrs/day total 80 hrs per month + 4 cooking classes (once a week) + 4 wine classes (once a week) Extra group cooking classs can be added to this program.  

Program C:
8 Cooking Classes (twice a week)

Program D:
8 Cooking Classes (twice a week) + 4 Wine Classes (once a week)

Program E:
12 Cooking Classes + 4 Wine Classes

Program F:
Italian Language (4 hrs/day total 80 hrs per month + 12 cooking classes + 4 wine classes

  • Regional Cuisine (4 classes, offered once a week)

  • Italian Vegetarian Cooking (4 classes, offered once a week)

  • Italian Food Feast (4 classes, offered once a week in June and July)

* You may add a 3-week intensive group Italian language program LA VITA E’ BELLA for $675. Please see description below.

** Any additional set of 4 Cooking Classes $ 400 or any additional set of 4 wine classes $ 200. Please note this offer is applicable ONLY to students enrolled in a Monthly Program

La Vita è Bella - Intensive Italian Language Program

This program consists of three intensive weeks of study and includes the following:

  • 36 classroom hours of language instruction.

  • 9 hours of required seminars on Italian culture, history and current events Lectures, movies, etc)

  • 9 hours of required time in the Italian language and media laboratory.

  • Opportunity to participate in over 36 hours of cultural and sporting activities.

  • One 2-hour cooking/language lab

  • All required textbooks and materials for the successful completion of the course. (Textbooks and dictionary) to be returned at the end of term)

  • Volunteer opportunities – up to 20 hours per week.

  • Gym membership for the duration of the course.

Italian Program Meeting Times:

The Italian language class meets:

Monday through Thursday from 9:00-11:30AM (12 contact hours a week)

  • Mondays 12:00-2:00PM (once a week) A film viewing

  • Tuesdays 12:00-1:00PM (once a week) Lectures

  • The first Thursday of the session 6:00PM-8:00PM : one 2-hour cooking/language lab cooking class

Students are expected to work at least three hours per week in the language lab
