Study Abroad Italy (SAI) provides rental cell phones for students through Student Cells, Inc. Weekly/Monthly/Special Groups students are required to pay a Monthly Rental Fee of Euro 10.00 Students will automatically be assigned a cell phone upon online Registration at www.studentcells.com Cell phones allow school advisors and family members to contact students at any time, as most student apartments do not have land line phones.
Please follow the steps below to reserve your cell phone:
- Go to www.studentcells.com and click on the “Registration” button. Follow the instructions and complete the contract online prior to your departure. This must be done in order to receive your cell phone in Italy.
- In addition, you will be required to bring with you when picking up your cell phone, a valid Visa or MasterCard (American Express and bank debit cards is no longer accepted).
IMPORTANT: If you will be charging your cell phone bills to your parent's credit card, Please bring the completed and signed “Responsibility for Cell Phone Payment” form with you to Italy to pick up your phone. To print this form go to www.studentcells.com and click on the “Registration Link”. This form is required if you are using your parents credit card.
- We are unable to provide Monthly/Weekly students with their cell phone numbers prior to their departure, due to the short time period.
- Once you have arrived in Italy, you will pick up your cell phone at the Student Cells Helpdesk located at: Corso dei Tintori, 29 red #, Florence.. You must bring your credit card with you in order to pick up your cell phone.
- SAI Monthly/Weekly/Special Groups students are required to pay a MONTHLY RENTAL FEE of Euro 10.00 You will also be required to sign a “credit card slip” which is needed for guarantee - it will be destroyed at the end of the payment history of the contract. If using your parents credit card, the “Responsibility for Cell Phone Payment” form is in lieu of a signed “credit card slip”.
- During cell phone pick up, you will be given all the information regarding the “Student Cells helpdesk.”
**If you do not use your cell phone, you will NOT be charged.
• Students must present a credit card (Visa or Master Card) when picking up their cell phone
• Students are responsible for any damages to, or loss of, the cell phone.
• Students are responsible for the payment of all eventual phone calls by third parties, which occured due to theft, or loss of the cell phone from the time the phone is lost or stolen, up until the time the rental agent is notified.
