The Italian Food Feast

This course is designed to offer students a comparative study of the religious and social festivities in Italy, both in public and private areas (national holiday and family events).

All main festivities will be analyzed trough their history, regional and national importance, and through the role they play in local culture. Also, rituals, celebrations, table manners, social gatherings and their evolution throughout the centuries will be examined. All the various aspects of the Italian social lifestyle will be introduced, together with the cuisine and the rituals and changing customs.
